nitrite 0
nitrate 20
pH 7.2

thanks x x x :good:

Do you mean they are lumps with fluff growing on them, can you describe the lumps better.

Just want to check, but the lumps don't look like a cluster of berries or a cauliflower.

hey theyve got bits fraying off them
thanks

You mean stringy cotton things, are the fins going raggy.

yeh kind of also one of them has a red sore thats developed on its belly

From the sounds of it, your fish has a bacterial infection. Speciffically, because of the fungus looking thing, my guess would be your fish has columnaris. (which ironically enough seems to be a very common ailment today). To treat the fish, you are going to need an antibacterial medicine, and the sooner you can add it, the better. Columaris can be lethal, and the UK meds aren't that strong (assuming you are UK because your tank is Ltr), so the sooner the better.

The sore that you are seeing is probably an ulcer, which is another way columnaris and other bacterial infections can present themselves.

Good luck!

hey thanks for the reply, that sounds like what my fish has, i am in the uk, can u recommened any good meds? also should i treat the whole tank or put the 2 ill fish in a small tank i have (4ltr) that isnt cycled?
thanks x x

You will need myxazin, and primafix, good luck.

hey couldnt get any melafix so i was advised by my lfs to get interpet med called anti fungas and finrot is this stuff any good? will it be ok with all the fish i have? (see sig)
thanks x x

I said myxazin not melafix, it bacterial the lump so you need a bacterial med, the fungus and finrot med will be ok for the fungus on the lump, but you still need a bacterial med.

oops well they didnt have any water life products anyway.
ill treat with this med first and see what happens.
thanks x x
