Fungus

Does anyone have any idea how long fungus takes to actually go away? One of my young mollies has had white around her gill, and i have been treating her for fungus but it doesnt seem to be getting any better. I think it has been almost a week now. Does it usually take this long to go away? Would a salt bath help?? I keep salt in my tank on a regular basis, i have been doing water changes daily and adding the medication.

My Black Sailfin Molly currently has fungus too. I'm using Melafix at the moment and it's been 3 days, still not cleared up just yet.

Someone gave me a tip to remove the carbon filter which I wasn't doing before

White around the gill does it look fluffy, any signs of laboured breathing or flicking and rubbing on things.
