hello about 3 weeks ago one of my balloon mollies died. before she died i would notice she would break out with fungus once a month and when she died she died of dropsy(it was a very old fish to and i know mollies are more likely to develope fungus). she was the mother fish and i have all her babies in the tank and they are all 1 year old. only 1 other fish got a small amount of fungus on it. every time there was an outbreak i always treated with fungus clear. i just recently put some aquarium salt in for the heck of it with my water change.
all of the fish in the tank now act fine, except i recently put a powerhead in, and i noticed that on 2 of my fish it seemed they had like a small white scale(probably a damaged scale)
all the fish eat and swim fine.
it's a 30 gallon tank, and i just had the water tested and all the levels were fine. i am just wondering if anyone might know what the white scale is, and if there is anyway to help the scale recover.

thanks in advance.

Is the scale fluffy looking, any signs of flicking and rubbing.

I would buy your own test kits in liquid form as if the fish was coming down with fungus once a month need to look at water quality.
How many gallons or litres is the tank, how many fish and which type

it's a 30 gallon tank
i got 7 balloon mollies ( they are about half and inch) very small
1 upside down catfish
1 algea eater
4 painted platy's
1 lyretail molly

only the mother fish which died, got fungus on here once a month. as soon as i scavenge up some money i will purchage my own test kit. all i have is an ammonia test, and the levels read normal.
no flicking or rubbing on the fish. it does look like the "scale" is starting to get better.
also i noticed on only a couple of the mollies under their gills is are shiny silver like color. it's been like that for a few months, i was curious to see if that was normal.
all of fish act as if they were healty, no rubbing, flicking , they all eat and all the tests results from the store were good.

If the scale looks like it getting better, i wouldn't worry to much at this stage, good luck.
