Hey all

About 2 weeks ago i bought 2 Botia Modestas (they are old in age) and put them in my 12in fry tank. Yesterday I noticed that there seems to bit quite a lot of fungus on their backs. They are also constantly rubbing against each other, wether that because of the fungus or breeding, i dont know.
Anyway the fungus doesn't seem to be on ether of the 2 corydoras or any of the fry. I was wandering wether to kill them and hope the fungus hasn't spread, or use some treatment on them and risk it.

Any advice would be great...ASAP

Cheers
Alex

see the recent 'Interpet n.8 fungus and fin rot'...

Thanks,

So you think i should use the treatment???

Im just slightly worried about the 40-50fry because they are from 2 days old to 5 weeks old and im just worried about the treatment being too strong on them since they are soo small.

Cheers
Alex

Not an ideal situation at all, what tank have you taken them from, and what is in the main tank, as with the fry in the smaller tank you might be better of adding the med to the main tank, is there any streaks of red patches with the columnaris on them.

Soo sry, they arnt meds, they are botia sidthimunki. Tey are fully grown at 1.5inch.

In the main tank I have 10 guppies, 7 platies, 5 swordtails, 5 zebra danios, 30 neon/cardanal tetras, 2 corydoras, 1 bristle nosed plec, 1 large rusty plec and a 6inch common plec...the tank is big,so dont worry

Cheers
Alex

There only the danio though that are quite hardy in there, i think i would risk the fry tank.
