='( Fungus on one of my sterbai cory

Quarantine, but it isn't extremely contagious.

Medicate with anti-fungal medicines.

Where is the fungus growing?

Could the bleeding be from a physical wound that got infected wiht fungus?

Not on mouth, then?

Where is or will the cat be?

Use about half the dose on the bottle, since corydoras are fragile.

i have no where to put him except a 1/2 jug.... and what kind of medication should i use? should i treat the tank?

i need as much help as possible

What are all of the fish in the tank?

T.O.? Can only think Toronto... Anyways, if you are on this side of the "pond", everything is closed... :/

Antifungal meds can be found at any lfs. I believe I used maracyn...?

How big is the tank?

I'd say treat the whole tank, then, seeing as how the fish would die in the jug.

Oh yeah, you have a camera, so post a picture.

yea toronto, the tank is a 55 gallon with...

1 discus
7 harlequin rasbora
8 sterbai cories
2 elegans cory
4 sparkling gourami
2 guppies
2 angel fish

not over stocked...and all fish healthy so i think he damaged himself somehow....eh i have to charge my batteries for the digi cam so.....it'll take a while..and he'll probably be dead by then :(

No, it isn't that bad that it'll kill him in minutes.

What sucks is that you ahve so many corydoras and the discus!!!!!!

Definitely have the dose when you get the meds.

Anyone live near you who can give you those meds? What do you have?

From now on, get a broad spectrum antibiotic and antifungal medicines in case this happens again.

Sidenote: are you getting companions for the duscus?

does canada have 24 hour walmart? If you did you could grab a sponge filter and some jungle buddies anti fungus fizzy tab thingies (not the best stuff but thats what they usually have) and maybe one of those little pet keeper tanks so you can isolate it. use half doses of anything you get on corys and make sure the tank is well ariated(sp?? like an airstone) It may seem like a lot to spend for one fishie but then you will have it all for future use.

Oh, forgot about the 24-hour Walmarts. They close at 10 here...

But the jungle tabs are all you'll get there. I had no luck with them, but others have... :dunno:

If its the same thing my fish had it should be okay just treat it with some anti fungi meds and it should clear up in about 4-5 days

i really dont know about walmart, it's 3 am now...and it hasnt gone any worse

i'll get some meds tommorw hopefully -_-

as for the discus yea, i'm just waiting for good deals :)

temp, i coulnt find the med u werre talkin about but when i saw my med for ick " quick cure ick and other paracites" i noticed the formula mentioned "malac...green"...i have a feeling it'll work, should i try?

EDIT: when i tried serching for fungus meds made by "AP" becasue i foun it very effective on ick..it didnt have any on fungus, so my bet would be that this includes fugus too

Malachite green.

Not exactly sure how well it works, seeing as how it had not been the main ingredient in my meds, but it shoudl work.

There are problems with lights making it less effective, so I would ask about that.

Otherwise, it should be fine. And you would find the maracyn at an lfs, not at Walmart. :p
