My betta has a fungal infection, looks like white cotton wool patches on him.

I have done a partial water change, added salt to the new water going in and medicated him with Interpet Anti Fungus. His water is at 28c.

Does anybody have any recommendations, tips or advice on what else I can do?

Aww poor little guy! I can only say that i've not had great experiences with the Interpet anti fungus & finrot med, so if you don't have much success maybe try something else (I personally like eSHa 2000 and the API Liquid fungus cure meds).

water change, water change, water change. pics might me helpful to determine if it is in fact fungal, columnaris or a slime coat issue, all which requite different treatments.

I am out at work but I am told he has lost his appetitite which is very worrying for him and hanging about the bottom of the tank.

Who is watching him while you are at work? A knowledgeable fish-person? Or a kind family member? It may be his regular behavior. Ask them to send you pictures of him.

Do you use water conditioner when adding new water? Lots of water changes with clear and good quality water. If it doesnt go away i tend to dose with a gentle med called Pimafix or otherwise i use Melafix.

It is my other half that is watching him.

He is usually fairly active, he often sleeps on the bottom of the tank but does not really hang about there.

He has never lost his appetite before, even when he was ill at xmas, he lives for his food.

I always use water conditioner. His water is changed and I would say that it is clean enough to drink out from.

My other half just tried to get pimafix, the only stuff they had in the store was a year out of date. I do have melafix though.
