 Hi im just off for a beer before i have to move my tank. Actually im doing it in the morning.

What id like to know is, Is a full water change a good or bad idea. Ive brought loads of water bottles home to empty the tank into, all 260 lts of it. I was planing a 60 ltr water change anyway. but then thought, just change it all!!!

Will this screwup the bacteria balance? Or be good for the tank?? ????

I think it's cos hes moving the tank so if he can't change 100% of the water hes gonna have to have alll the water standing round in buckets.

It's not recommened to do a 100% change, I'd try and save as much of the water as possble. Having said that I changed maybe 75% or more once when I stripped down my tank to change the substrate and it didnt cause any problems. It doesn't remove bacteria because the abcteria only live on the solid surfaces like glass.

I agree. For the sake of the fish, keep at least 50% of the water unless there is something wrong with it ammonia, ph or nitrite wise. Even when aquarium water is out of whack, it's never recommended to do a 100% water change....gradual changes every day do the trick, so try to keep 50% ok?
