Ok I know this is really dumb but I have my platy fry in a seperate tank as I'm trying to raise them! I realised last night that at least ten have ich!

I did a water change and put in some white spot treatment! I only did half the treatment dosage as am unsure of if it is totally safe for the fry!

Have I done the right thing by using a less amount or should I have just left them to see if clears up on its own?

ps: also posted in livebearer section but have had no response so thought I'd try here! Sorry

generaly speaking
fry should be dosed at half normal dose, so you have don the right thing.
what meds are you useing?

have you raised the temp to 82f, as the ich parasite can not live in temps above 80f?

Its interpet white spot treatment from my LFS

Started to increase the temp last night but didnt want to go too high too quick so was thinking a couple of degrees at a time? at mo its prop about 25ºc, (not got into using ºF sorry)

Lower dosage.. Just like if you were to give meds to a small child.. Good luck

raising temp should be done slowly;
no more than 4 degrees C in a 24 hr period.
you should be aiming for 28C

Ok thanks its up to 25ºC at this morning so will alter it again tonight! For some reason the spots have started to go already which is strange as I thought they stayed a couple of days on the fish before dispersing into the part where they multiply! I'm so glad for your help thank you
