So Gretel My hi Fin Lyretail is pregnant and shes incredibly cute.
any ways ive been able to see her birthing tube for about a day now,
and last night i moved her into a 2 gallon tank that i had left over.
(cannot currently afford a 10 gallon set up)
my question is, how long before she drops now that her birthing tube is visable
i can see the fry's little eyes
she has squared out
and she definately looks like shes about to pop!!
so how long!!!!

please and thanks

thanks fish48!

thats about what i figured.

a little update!
i can see her birthing tube beginning to blacken!

now thats a new one on me

i have NEVER seen a birthing tube, just knew she was pregnant (on all live bearers) then next day babies lol

i have to admit the birthing tube is pretty cute and definately got my attention
she is definately my first preggo fish.
and after reading 5teadys thread about livebearers
i continue to notice the same general behavior
hiding in corners, behind the plants, or underneath the heater.
shes not swimming alot, just occasionally up and down the side of the tank.
Im very excited and will most definately keep every one posted!

i know all the signs, as mine tend to hide by the lump of rocks in my tank, or back by the heater.

dont forget pics :p

i will post some pics up after they are born.
i cant really get a good picture of her currently with out using the flash and i dont want to stress her out.
she definately doesnt like the camera as it is lol.

im getting ready to leave for work so i hope she doesnt drop while im gone!!

She's a beauty! :good:

If you have a light on the tank turn it off and leave her to it :)

Isn't she :).
The lights been off! I just turn it on occasionally to check for fry!

she really is taking her time.
still nothing this morning.
i really hope everything is ok!
