I currently have a 5G fry tank and I'm moving to a 10G. As far as setting it up, should I have gravel in it or bare bottom? I've seen some pics of fry tanks that don't have any substrate and I was wondering if it was better that way. the ones i have now seem to like poking around in the gravel and the plants. thanks.

what i did with my 5 gal fry tank is add a very very THIN line of gravel.......so its realy easy to clean...also you could buy plant weights at petco or something so you can put some java moss or fake plants if you like to have them in there.....also you could also get a bio-wheel filter it does all three filtration :hey: ... put a sponge attachment on the pipe so the fry dont get sucked up  or i buy a $3.00 fry breeder net and just use the mesh to put around the entrance of the pipe.....but you could still use your 5.....i do that and its plenty of room for my 15 fry :fun: ....good luck with your fry

I have sand in mine but I don't plan to raise batch after batch of fry. For cleaner conditions, and the wish to raise lots of fry, I'd go with the bare bottom.
