Hi All,

I am wondering if this will work as a fry tank for my M.estherae that is currently holding. I have a house brick (clay-based) that comes from france (don't ask!) and as you can see, it has loads of holes in it that would be perfect hiding places for the fry when young I think.

The tank is a PFK nano and I was thinking of stripping the mother, who is now 3wks gone. What do you guys think. Also have a p.acei that is holding, but is only 3 days in.

Please let me know what you all think.

Cheers

Gordon

That should work short-term, however once the fry gets 1/2 to 3/4-inch, I would move the to a larger grow out tank, something at least 20gal long so they have plenty of swimming space. You'll also need to do water changes once per day or every couple of days, depending on how many fry you get.

Thanks for that, I know it's rough and ready, but if it does it's job, then fab. I don't envisage a mbuna production line, but if I can have some fry survive, then fab. I guess it's now time to activate it...couldn't do it last night, otherwise the thoroughly supportive Rachel would have gone off the rails!!! :shifty:

Cheers
