My red platy is pregnant and getting fatter everyday this morning she was laying in the gravel breathing heavily and moving her fins fast. Then she moved up and sat on a plant leave doing the same thing. She is "squared off". So what do you guys think

Breathing heavily, sitting on the gravel, fast fins aand squaring off are all signs that she will be in labour either now, or very, very soon. If you are wanting to save the fry, I would suggest moving her to a different tank or a breeding trap now. I know lots of people on this forum hate breeding traps and don't use them, but I personally have never had any bad experiences with them. Do whatever you think is best. :)

Do not put her in a breeding trap, especially if she is already laboring. You shouldn't move her from the tank at all if there is a possibility that she is actively giving birth. Set up your breeder net, and watch for fry. Try to catch the fry as she has them to prevent them from being eaten. But if you move the female now, while she is possibly birthing, you can cause her to miscarry or in worst cases, cause death from stress.

I'm just gonna leave her in the tank. I have my breeding trap set up for the fry and today im going to get a brand new ten gallon aquarium. ( not brand new cuz it's cycled). The fry haven't come yet but she is still showing the signs. It may be a 16 gallon though because it's a bowfront

I also might buy his cycled 2 gallon with betta just for fun and she is a pretty girl. But he might keep betta but I might still buy 2 gallon as well. What can u do with a two gallon?
