Well, this is my second time having fry ever. They are finally having fry since i put them in the new 20 gallon high with sand, so i keep up with waterchanges and the vaccuming of the poo.

Well my platy thinks its funny to trick me.... She always gets fat every 2 weeks, then i think shes pregnant and i move her to a tank by herself. But she never has them. So this week she wanted to play this game again. She was normal sized one day, then 5 days ago she was huge! So i put her in the 5 gallon for a day. then one of my fish was sick so i moved her out and put the sick one in. then i put her in a breeding net. she never had fry. then this morning, i wake up and there is alot of poo so i start using the gravel vac. but then i see movement. a baby!!!!! i get the net and try to get it, then i accidently crush it and it dies....... well i look around and eventually find 2 more. meanwhile my bettas are swimming around looking plump and are watching the bottom of the tank. so now they are in a breeding net by themselves, and all the others must've been eaten or sucked up by the filter. i guess this is a good example of survival of the fittest, but in the end, it works out i only have room for 2 more platys anyway! so this is bitter sweet.

The end

PS: my other platy is pregant. Ohh #*$&

Congrats on the fry :D They should make livebearer birth control xD Though, I'm not sure many people would use it. More like hang it on the wall next to the tank and say "ha! look at that!"

congrats though :p

well i put them in a 5 gallon that i made today in an hour, sand and everything, and made the 5 minutes DIY sponge filter, and they seem good! heres a pic of the tank, and the mom.

the mom was so hard to get, the camera focus was always off! anyway when the fry get bigger, if they live, ill get pics.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that! :( Poor babies. I'm not sure why they died if there were only two of them in the breeder net, there was plenty of room for them. Strange . . . and very sad! :-(
