I have just watched my molly give birth she gave birth to 17(maybe more) but sadly she ate two fry while still in the net  . We found her in the tank giving birth so we moved her as quickly as possible to the net, so there could be some in the tank hiding. We had to move our male molly out as they were fighting after she finished giving birth. He was watching the whole time!!
How long do you think we should keep them apart???
I will keep everyone posted on how they are doing.

keep him out untill the fry are decent size that they wont be devoured if you plan to keep them all

send me some, ill send you my swordtails fry once she gives birth.. or my platy's at no cost

update...
The fry have almost reach there first week and all of them are fighting fit. I seem to be havving a problem with ammonia though it keeps jumping up and down i dont know wheither this is because of the fry food or what but they seem to be ok all of them are really healthy and happy yay

You can only keep the fry in the breeder nwt for 2 weeks max. After that, especially with Mollies, you run the risk of stunting. If you still think they are too small, add in some hiding places and lots of floating plants into the main tank. The fry should learn to hide there. :)

Oh, and congratulations! :-
