Fry In My Tank...

Can only imagine it's guppy fry... can see 2 swimming at the surface, it's bizarre as i only purchased my guppy's the other day... is it possible they are guppy fry? ...i have an albino cory in there but not sure on the sex... and i highly doubt it's neon fry.

I shall try & get a decent pic & post...

Is there a question other than whether it's guppy fry? What other fish do you have besides the cory?

Well basically is it possible a female guppy give birth that fast?

I have 6 neons 2 guppies & a cory.

She was preggers when you got her, definitely. See what happens in another 28 days or so! Likely some more.

Are you going to start raising them? I just got out of that part of fishkeeping a few weeks ago.

Yes, that was the idea... so if it is guppy fry im glad as i want to start raising them hence the reason for a bigger tank.

Is there any special food i should be giving them? i was gonna buy some baby fish food...

You can feed them that, or baby brine shrimp. All I ever fed mine was ground fish flakes ... I used a mortar and pestle and that worked great. They all thrived. A little too well, actually!

In my livebearer tank I have a constant supply of guppy and platty fry and I never feed them anything special...they pick up the scraps from the adults. Originally, the adults ate most of the fry but now they leave them alone (I WISH they'd pick off more of them, I'm getting overloaded)...I've now seperated male platties and guppies into one tank and females into another....eventually the females will use up all of their stored sperm and stop having babies....as for the fry - I keep some of the nicer colored ones, and the rest go to the LFS or into my new cichlid tank as feeders.

Yeah well eventually once my bigger tank is up and running im gonna use this smaller one as a breeder tank and either pass some on to relatives or sell them or take them to my LFS, i will be keeping some though.

Then once i want to stop breeding them i will just seperate the males from the females like you have done.
