i have a 3gal hexagon withabout 15 guppy fry that were just born a day or two ago i was wondering if i could put a snail in with em to clean up the droplets on the bottom if not what should i do to clean the bottom?

also do guppy fry stress easy?

I have 2 day old guppy fry in a 5 gallon bare bottomed tank with a heater and sponge filter. I just did their first water change this morning. I use the tubing off my gravel vac and just get all the rubbish off the bottom taking about 50% of the water. I then make sure the clean dechlorinated water is around the same temperature and then jug it back in.

The babies didn't seem to get stressed at all and I didn't even suck any of them up into the bucket  but do check carefully to make sure there aren't any in when you're done. If you got one just net it out and add back to the tank.

I generally do a 50% water change every other day and then just use a turkey baster in between times to get the rubbish off the bottom. The guppies will thank you for nice clean water :D

I have heard some people have snails in their fry tanks but don't they create waste themselves?

I keep my tanks bare-bottomed and do water changes as usual.

im gonnatry the turkey baster idea and since its a hexagon im just gonna use a glass or something to get the water out itd be alot easier yes snails to make wastes on their own i think they regurgitate their food i could be wrong thats the one thing i was concerned with but i wont get any now ill stick with the plan i came up with! thanks
