Last nite found a single fry so i kept him in my big net as didn't have a breeding net...i dont want a whole load of fry but i want a few to watch them grow! my tank is heavily planted so it survived hiding :D

got a breeding net today :)D) and liquid food and hey i find more...so i now have 3

i got a fry net thing to keep them protected...i added a fake decoration of grass leaves and stuff...is this advisable or is it not needed in a net?

decor within the net especially floating plants will help the fry feel secure, even though within a net they don't know the other fish can't reach them :good: any idea who mum is?

oo mum is the tuxedo platy, she is huge at the min still! so i only assume she will drop more? They are class wee things :D

i shall try and get some more decor to cover the top of the net...only problem at min is that the liquid fry food is getting sucked through the new by the main tank fish

well thought out, they will be totally dandy in there :good:

They will be perfectly fine with the cover in the net.

The little fry will love that. Also for fry food you can use finely crushed flake food that you feed your other platys now. Also feeding live brine shrimp works well to!

Congrats on the fry!!! :hyper: :hyper:

cheers for the comments :D its amazing seeing such small fish and how quick they can move! they seem to be settling in fine around the leaves :D

how often should i feed them the flak food and/or liquid food? i have live frozen food i feed the others...would that work if i thawed one of the blocks?

feed them the liquid or the crushed flake, they are too small for frozen foods, i feed mine 3 times a day and water change at 105 everyday to increase growth rates but since they are in a trap only feed them twice a day and keep an eye on your nitrates as the excess fodd will bring it up

the tank is heavily planted so the nitrates are always at a low...i will keep a tight eye on it though
