Bit of a neeby question but i went to my lfs today to have a look around and i felt like giving my fish more a balanced diet because of advice on here, now i brought some frozen blood worm but how to i add them to the tank?

if u have a good stock of fish in the tank then 1 block would probably be eaten by them all and no food left......and this way just drop it on the water surface.....

if however you only ave a small stocking of fish then i use human pill packets - remove ALL the foil and wash in warm soapy water (USING BOILING WATER - REMOVES THE DEPRESSIONS IN THE PILL PACKETS)

i defrost the blood worms and fill up each of the depression with blood worms so that each feed is only a tiny portion of the big ice block that is sold!!

my little tip of the day LOLOL

Personally I'd advise against just lobbing in a frozen block to your fish. Generally speaking there is a lot of crap that's held with frozen bloodworm, and you'd be chucking all of this into your tank.

Get some tank water in a cup/tub/glass, stick the frozen bloodworm into this for a few minutes. The iceblock will melt leaving the bloodworm 'free' with a few good stirs. I tend to tip most of the blood water away, refill the glass with fresh tank water and then put it back into the tank.

Usually i use some sort of pipette to suck up the bloodworm/water and disperse it around the tank evenly. That's not really necessary though, i just like to make sure everyone gets a share and very little hits the substrate.
