i set up my DIY co2 system 2 days ago and in the bottle there is a yellow froth at the top and it keeps on rising. at the moment it is about 2 cm away from the airline at the top. will the froth eventually die down and what should i do with it if it keeps on rising.

i had that in mine also, i did eventually die down. It was within 4 days or starting it. Just give a swish!

i left it over night and when i first looked at it this morning it had rose through the tubing and now is in the check valve. i gave the bottle a shake to get rid of the froth. should i leave it in the check valve until i refill it next sunday or should i clean it.

the co2 still works fine

p.s. Allinsons yeast in the sachets (which is what I used to use) is 29p a box in Lidl at the moment.

AC

Don't shake the bottles, it will only make the reaction faster (more collisions between yeast & sugar) and therfore more CO2 is produced and it will just rise even further.

Add less water next - three quarters. If itit still happens then add less yeast.
