Hi,

I am looking into changing my tank setup to suit african cichlids. I am interested in Frontosa's but was wondering how many I could put in my tank which is 101L x 50H x 41W cm. I would think its perhaps just one. If it is one is there a possibility of any other africans being housed with it or would that cause problems?

Cheers

Frontosa need to be a single species tank, the minimum tank for these guys is really 5ft, but if you get small ones you can keep them in a smaller tank as they are not really fast growing like some cichlids, but bearing in mind you would need to upgrade in the future. I have seen fronts mixed with others usually ca/sa cichlids not other africans, but its usually a singular front not a group and not really recommended as the fronts to better as a group on their own.

The best place for front info is this site, dedicated to nothing but fronts.
