Dwarves prefer the company of others though it seems to be nonessential. I still have a pair anyways and am planning on more eventually.

I currently have 6 ADFs in a 20 gallon long. Really I have seen most places say about 2 frogs per gallon is acceptable. The frogs will eventually be moved to a 3 or 5 gallon as my girlfriend wants to see more frogs and less substrate ;) they will move to the tank on her desk (they were her contribution to the tank). As was mentioned, a "long" tank will be far better than a "high" tank, unless you do not fill the high all the way. ADFs breathe from the surface and can suffocate if the water is too deep. If you plan on keeping fish with the frogs, ensure they are peacefull community fish and I would understock so as to ensure the frogs get food.

i have four adfs in a ten gallon tank. they seem to do better in numbers as they are a social animal. I find that they do better in a species tank rather than a community tank. when theyr put in a community tank they have a tough time getting food. they are shy by nature and wont fight for food with the fish and lose out most the time. they prefer sand over gravel arent all that dirty love plants and caves to hide in are light sensitive though mine seem to be out in the day as much as when it's dark . i feed them frozen shrimp and freeze dried blood worms. i had two in the comminty tan kand always worried that they werent getting food and i rarely saw them as they were always hiding . in the ten gallon tank by themselves i see them all day theyre lively and healthy. i also only feed them once a day. hope this helps.

I have two ADF's in a 5gal tank...I dont have sand as yet but have rounded gravel. I have a lump of bog wood for them to hide under and also live plants and soft edged fossils. They have to share with a male molly and two male guppies at the moment, but always have enough food..I watch them a meals times as they are so funny!

Mine have defrosted bloodworms, I find they like the red ones best. They do like tubifix worms too. Mine two will also eat the tablet food that you can stick on the side of the tank, not too sure if its any good for them though!

I have also taped up around the holes the cables go through as they can be known to be excape artists.
