Fresh Water To Salt Water

hello all,
I have a aqua tech 30-60 filter, 30 gallon tank and simple 20 watt florescent light... the tank has a new gravel substrate .... I would like to make it into a cool salt water tank. can i use the gravel and the filter....? Besides adding salt what else will i need.. i have salt and a hydrometer.. I would like to just put in live rock and maybe a few damsels.. if they live i can move on... please help

dont need a filter, LR is your filter.
you should use marine sand as a substrate.

you will need:
ro water (not tap)
powerheads
heater
refractometer as it is more reliable than hydrometer.
salt
live rock
and you might want a skimmer (can be done without)

damsels are agressive, dont think you should keep em together.


you might want to consider clownfish, firefish, cardinals, gobys, blennies, royal gramma, ect.
