To all,
I have a red finned shark and would like to know if i could feed it finely chopped lettuce/spinach instead of buying commercial veggie foods.I have other fish which are omnivorous will they eat lettuce/spinnach.
Is it really necessary to feed these sharks a bit of veggie or can they thrive on normal flake food.

I feed all my fish a varied diet......they all love some veg in my community tanks, especially the bala sharks........and my ex-rtbs loved them too......feed away!!

I always have a packet of frozen peas in my freezer.....I feed them to my fish as well as eat them?........What veg do you eat in your everyday life?.......maybe you can share with your fish?.......I personally think veg are very cheap. :)

I didn't mean fresh vegetables. Is it ok if i don't feed commercial flake foods containg algae etc.
What are the different vegeatbles i can feed my red finned shark?

I ahve a black shark which is same as a retailed but he just is all black. He eats the same as the other fish but I feed them a flake that contains both veg and protine. It contains a lot of plankton ect. He also loves freeze dried shrimp and blood worm. They are omnivores so I'm sure he will get by ok. Mine eats the algee that grows in the tank too so yours can get his veggies that way.
