frenquency of water testing

i have just bought myself a test kit for ammonia, pH nitrate and nitrite, bascially i am woundering how oftern i should use this to test the tank water?

Cycling ever couple of days, or even daily, mature tank, i test before a water change sometimes, or if a fish looks of colour.

and it was certainly the first thing I did when I came home from a week's holiday yesterday, before I'd even brought the bags in lol

I test about every 2 weeks unless there's a problem of some kind. Then I test as needed.

I used to test all the time. The water was always good, so I stopped. I tested today just out of curiosity. Same as before. I will only test if I think there might be a problem.
