Freeze Dried Food?

Yeah, Its healthy and clean.

My freeze dried bloodworms float at the top until eaten. None fall too the bottom or are wasted. and the fish love them!

Live is always better though.

thanks

I soften them up by soaking in warm water for a while before feeding. I have no evidence to back it up, but it seems to me that rehydrating the food first would be better for the fish. Imagine yourself eating dehydrated food straight out of the package.

I use both frozen and FD. Frozen, if from a reputable company like Hikari etc., is superior to the FD imo.

yes but fish eat it in the water so it's not exactly dry when they eat it -_-

It does take a while for it to absorb water and rehydrate. It doesn't happen instantly.

Does rehydrating it make it sink? I tryed to make mine sink by squeezing them tightly to a shrimp pellet and plopping it in!

Im new to useing frozen foods and ive had no problem with it.fish seem like it as any other foods ive used.buy some and test it for your self see how the fish take to it ....goodluck!

Yes, most will eventually sink. I swirl them vigourously in a glass of warm water and after a few minutes, half or more will sink. Some will have air trapped in them and although they soften up nicely they still float. With a bit more time, nearly all will sink.

Mine fish are now spoiled on frozen and aren't much interested in the freeze dried any more. Freeze dried bloodworms put straight in are untouched but they will eat some if they are softened first.

Does anyone know if there is anything other than pellets for cories ect as my angels steal the pellets from them. I need something i can stick in the gravel for the bottom feeders.
