Hi Everyone
Friday is my day to clean Fred's tank. I felt bad 'cause he had a nice bubble nest going, his second one, and because of the cleaning the nest got distroyed. So I went to the lfs and bought him some live worms as a treat. He never had them before. I now know how much I must love that fish because those worms looked so gross I didn't want to touch them. So I picked up the first worm and dropped it in the water. Fred went nuts!!! He sucked it down and looked for more. The second worm wouldn't come off my finger. So I dunked my finger with that nasty looking worm squirming on it in the water, and Fred had the nerve to flare at me. What a brat! He has never flared at me before. I don't know if he thought I was going to take that worm back and eat it myself but he definately got mad at me. Anyway after about 4 more worms I guess he likes me again! Crazy boy!

The lady at the lfs said they were live blood worms. The look so completely gross, but Fred loves them. I hope he will eat his pellets in the morning.

i used to feed my buegills nightcrawlers, and they went nutssssss! :fun:

I went to feed him his usual pellets this morning, he sucked them down and spit them out. He looked at me did the food dance and demanded that I should get his worms!

I was told Blood worms are high in protein and shouldnt be given more than once or twice a week. You should check with other members. Plus you dont want him getting used to only eating the worms..I would post a thread asking about how often you should feed him them! :good:

Hi
Your right dzsigmond :good: Bloodworm should only be fed a few times a week unless your conditioning for spawning

I usually feed him pellets and dried worms as a treat twice a week. This is the first time I fed him live food. I think I made a mistake because he now he is being a brat and doesn't want the pellets. He did the same thing when I gave him dried worms in the begining. So for the next copule days I feed him only pellets. When he gets hungry enough he will eat the pellets again. What I want to know is how do you get your betta to eat peas? I tried feeding Fred a canned pea, he wouldn't go any where near it.

It needs to be a garden pea, like the frozen ones you buy from the supermarket. Cook in in the microwave then mush half of it up and drop it in, he should pick at it
