Freakish Algae

in my crab tank I have this wierd sort of algae growing. Each one looks almost like a sort of wierd coral polyp except its green and transluscent and its in freshwater so it cant be coral. its growing on the glass gravel and even on the shell of one of my crabs. What is it and how do I get rid of it without harming my red clawed crabs.

I think it might be hair elage which is cause by low/ fluctuating CO2, low nutrients snd/ or ammonia spikes.

Sounds more like hydra to me
