For A while now I've been communicating back and forth with a woman who breeds killies out of her basement and I ordered her late husbands book on killifish Called "Success with Killifish" by Ed Warner and 2 females to breed with my male that I already had. Well today the fish came in the mail and I was surprised to see a second pair in the box. So 2 females are in the 5.5 gallon tank with my original male and until I can get another 5.5 gallon tank for the second pair they are staying in my 10 gallon community. So I decided to snap a few pics. Enjoy.(I posted these in oddballs pretty much word for word except for the first paragraph I wrote.)
Heres the female of the second pair she gave me in her temporary home, seems like all the fish wanted to be in the pic except for the male of the pair.

hi,
sweet fish, killifish always look like they are smiling to me, i have a male i dont know what kind he is, but hes yellow with red dots, with a red mouth, he looks like he has lipstick on lol.
all the best with your breeding pairs, donna :) .

Hi everyone, the female that was eating the krill in the pic up there jumped out today and is now not doing so good back in the tank. I'll keep you posted.

as far as housing goes no, they're freshwater and can be kept in tanks of any size and kept with pretty much any fish that isnt big enough to eat it for example small tetras and barbs. For breeding and for housing in most cases small aquaria are best suited, I have the 1 male and 2 female trio in a 5.5 gallon tank and I'll be getting another 5.5 gallon tank for the other pair. If you are interested in maybe getting some for breeding purposes or just to keep as pets I can point you towards a very nice lady that breeds and sells quite a few variaties. That goes for anyone else also. I'd also like to add that the female that jumped out earlier is doing better and I'm probably going to run a cycle of melafix to clear up her 3 small wounds on her sides. Also I've got eggs!!! Most likely from the female that isnt hurt.
