Hello
In my constantly researching phase, and also due to me getting 'some' green hair algae, and a lot of the leaves that are in the light or directly beneath the Freshwater Lamp (the ones under the Orig Tropical are OK) I found the article I have put a link to at the bottom of the page.
Makes really good reading and it suggests to me (We already know this bit) that phosphates are the cause of algae (in excess amounts)
The interesting parts I found are that in 1 case study when the author was adding plants, moving plants etc, that the substrate disturbance let more phosphates into the water column (from the Nutrient Rich under substrate) therefore we are all helping algae with our constant scape changing and constant additions of 1 or 2 new plants.
Another part I found interesting is that he says using Aquasafe when doing your water change will 'bind' the metal in our trace fertiliser rendering them useless!
Have a read and see what you think, or is it only me that it has enlightened on 1 or 2 things

EDIT: This article is from 1996 so might be a little outdated, but does sound similar to what we talk about on here.
