Hey i recently found some fish fry in my tank. I have managed to take three out and placed them in a plastic container. I am afraid that my fish will eat these fry. Any ideas? I was going to get fish moss for them to hide in but all the stores are closed. help from anyone for what I could do now? The bottom of my fish take includes pebbles. Should I just put them back?

first off determine what fry they are, got any marbles? drop lots of the, in and form a pile of them, and put the fry back in but they may get eaten, you probably have livebearer fry,(very common) and you will get more, iff they are livebearers, crushed flake will keep keep them fed

okay thanks. but would you suggest if i just kept them in the container for a day then when i get the moss put them back in?

I will yap again with a suggestion. Go to your hardware store that can cut a piece of glass for you that you can use to separate a corner section of your tank. Slide it into the corner and keep the fry in there until they get bigger. Just for a while because that section of the water can get stale on you.
I used this method to separate Angle fish pairs from the others when I found they had mated up. Once separated I took the others out and the entire tank was used for breeding them.

this might not be a great idea, because there will be a build up of ammonia unless cuts are made in the glass, go to your LFS and buy a fry net for rearing

Okay. So i will just put them back in the tank and hope for the best. I also forgot to say. I also have slates of rock on the bottom that are good hiding places. They are Molly Fry. The first time i noticed them was in late August and they are no bigger.
