hey ppl i just fed my fish and when i gazed in to my vallis i saw a little yellow head and brown body dont know whos baby it is.
if you red my other post a couple of monthes ago i had the same problem, i had the same type of fry but didnt know the parents heres what i have in my tank to give you a better idea of what it could be...........

dwarf gouramis
white clouds
neon tetras
balloon molly
guppies (but my guppies arent yellow and brown)
albino cories
pleco

got any ideas whos it could be.

Just because the guppies have none of the fry colours doesn't mean it can't be a guppy fry. I have had guppy fry that look like none of the adult guppies at all....

I am not sure about the other fish but I am pretty sure they are egg layers. Not that it makes a difference but I guess it depends what size the fry was that you saw.

I bet it was a Guppy or Molly fry. I totally agree with Chook...just because it doesn't look like the parents, doesn't mean it isn't their fry. I've had blue Guppies come from a red father and yellow mother. So don't rule the Guppies out, as they are the most likely ones!

Hi guppy_man,

What colour is your balloon molly because it is most likely to be a guppy or a molly, everything else lays eggs, though white clouds breed quite often aquariums but it would have taken a while to get to a noticeable size, as do corys but the fry would brobably be hiding out at the bottom of the tank. Even if you only have one molly you could have bought it pregnant.

hi all the guppies that i have had in the past have come out the same colours as the mum and dad.
but anyway the molly is a pearl white.

you dont think the molly could of bread with my guppies do you?

How many Guppies do you have? Do you have any young Guppies that could have started breeding? And as Emma said, you could have bought your Molly pregnant, so you'd have no clue who the father is.

I still wouldn't rule out the Guppies, they tend to have a lot of hidden traits that might not come out for a while.

And I don't think it's very likely your Guppies and Mollies bred. They usually would much rather breed with their own kind.

i have 6 guppies 3 male, 3 female
i bought my molly about 5 months ago.

Well, it's possible a female bred with a male that she hadn't bred with before, and got that fry. There's a lot of possibilities there, with mixing males and females, so I'm fairly certain you found a Guppy fry. However, I guess you will just have to wait for it to grow up, and then you can be certain what it is. :)
