as post says, just found 2 baby fish in my tank, i went and got a wee fish net breeder thing to put it in the tank (to stop other fish eating them ) not sure if this is the right thing to do ?? do i put mummy fish in there as well or what ??

another question, how do i feed these baby fish when we go on holidays for a week

Depends on what they are ! What do you think they are babies of ? Now you have seperated them, they will need little/often feeding - again depends on species.
NO do not put the mother in... they do little "mothering" ! and are more likely so see them as a snack.

If you are going to leave them for more than a few hours, they would be better off taking their chances in the main tank... especially if theres plenty of cover (plants etc)

i dont know what kind of fish it is, if i went to the local pet shop, i could find out, heres a pic, the fish in question is very blurred

Probably the swordtails... although thats the male ! lol
You can get liquid feed, followed by crushed (powdered) flake... maybe some small live food such as brine shrimp, but being live bearers... they will be breeding again, so you might not be that bothered (sorry this sounded heartless... but culling is a way of life)

lol, i tried to get the 2 of them in the one pic, the female is bottom left

put them in the breeding box or separate them because they might eat the babies.
