Have the mods gone slack on the For Sale Section?
There seems to be more and more 'For Sale' topics where the 'Sales Form' isn`t being used. No point in having the guide/rules there if they`re not going to be followed or if people aren`t going to get a kick up the jacksie to use them ;)

I think you may be going over the top, yes the form is useful especially for selling fish but when it comes to equipment all people really need to know is, a price and a photo.

So long as you can make sense of whats being sold im not too fussed whether the forms used or not.

Meh, as long as you know what's for sale, how it is priced and how you are going to receive it then I see no problems.

Nah dunno, to be fair, the forms were put on for a reason, and if memory serves me well if the forms wern't used the ads were removed by the mods. Also I thought they were laid out quite well, simple consistant format for selling on here :good:

The sales form template is there to be used and used it should be.
In the early days of implementing this rule, we diligently patrolled this area to try and make sure folks conformed to using it. Members were requested to make use of this for various reasons one major reason was to try and protect folks against any scrupulous sellers and such like. After a certain amount of time people got used to tis idea and understood the reasons why we felt the need to make this a pre-requisite of advertising on these boards. Obviously from time to time folks become ignorant or lazy to this simple ask.
All to often people do not read rules and regs pages which are sometimes there to protect and help members have a better experience on TFF.
Thank you pointing this out to us once again.
We will need to RE-remind members to read the rules governing the Classified section before posting.

guys, please feel free to hit the report button. All your admins and mods are volunteers who also have full lives of our own. I think that it is fair to concede that we cannot check all sections of the forum all the time. So, if there is something against the rules, just hit the report button, type a sentence or two, and we'll get to it as soon as possible. We need everyone's help in this regard.

Thanks much, Bignose

I wouldn`t say it`s going over the top at all. The forms were produced for a reason and how many posts do you now see whereby people omit to put a price or a location? The forms enable people to sell things with all of the relevant information included, that was the whole point of them in the first place

My point exactly. If the forms are used and followed correctly then all info relating to an item is on display which benefits anyone looking to buy, surely this is what was intended

Yep, fully understand and accept that the mods are volunteers and aren`t always available however, the For Sale section is part of the whole Forum so should really be 'patrolled' along with the rest of the Forum and the fact that the forms aren`t being used in the way they were intended, does seem to be happening more and more regularly. It seems that because 1 or 2 have slipped through the net, others have now jumped on the band wagon and done the same.
I know it`s not a major issue but I just feel that it`s a shame to let rules that are there to ensure a smooth, trouble free running of the Forum have slipped somewhat. :X

Well, speaking from my own perspective (just to be clear, not speaking for all the mods), but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If there aren't a large number of reports coming out a section, I just assume that all is well. If all is not well, make very liberal use of the report button. I'd rather log in and have to deal with 50 reported posts of people not following the rules, than to log in and deal with no reported posts and let things just slide.
