I'm so upset that the picture did not turn out, but yesterday on a trip to the zoo I saw silver dollars that were at least 12inch long another that looks about to be a foot and a half. The larger one was a red hook silver dollar the smaller ones were spotted silver dollars. And there were not just one or two of these either but about four or five in about a 70 gal tank. It just made you say WOW!! I tracked down their local aquarist and he informed me that the majority of silver dollars will grow at least 12inchs if kept in ideal conditions; perhaps the information on the site should be updated?

I'm going to call the zoo tonight and see if he can send me a digi shot to post of these beautiful shy fish. (there was full grown sailfin pleco that you can compare size with )

thats cool! When I went to Alabama last year for spring break, They had an Esuarium there. They had some pink convics there that were about 2.5 feet long and about 1.5 feet in width. Oh my god is was kinda scary. It was the coolest thing I'd seen that day.
