Since there is already a pinned article here on frozen foods, I was wondering if one on DIY foods could also be pinned up. Table scraps, vegetables, meats, etc.

Good idea... ;)

Personally, I haven't tried any DIY food yet - perhaps I should...

I make all my own food. Not hard to make, only thing I store buy is shrimp pellets. There is 100's of ways to do it on the net. Biggest thing is never feed dairy or greasy food.

I certainly would love to hear what things people make for their fish to eat. I try to give them lots of variety but I'd love new ideas. The only DYI mine get right now is the mosquitos I catch for them in the summer. Now it is too cold for them though.

Well, then we'll have to take the initiative and start off.

Unfortunately, I don't have any recipes or the like, so I guess I'll just do something easy that worked for me.

A cheap and easy food to prepare for vegetarian fish (especially silver dollars):
Romainne lettuce

Though I haven't bought this myself (my stepmom does it for me :p), she tells me it's rather cheap when on sale ($0.29). Don't buy too much at one time, since it spoils.

You don't need to cook the lettuce to feed it to the fish. I found that my fish could eat it raw or after I warmed it up in the microwave for a couple of seconds. Read somewhere that this deteriorates the cell walls and allows for the nutrients to be absorbed better.

Extra perks, you can use it on sandwiches and the like. :D
