Food For Piranhas

I imagine that they'd take frozen (and defrosted) shrimp better and apparently, for fish that don't take pellets very well, such as piranhas in general, it works to stuff the shrimp with the pellets.

can you be more specific, the thing is i had these pellets for my oscar but he died recently and i dont want the food to go to waste, so could i feed these to my piranha, i also have mysis shrimp but i just dont want to waste the food.

I don’t think that’s a good idea, because they are meat eaters try to put bits of meat.

From what I've heard a wide range of foods are suitable for piranhas, including pellets.

Kittykat means take a shrimp (or piece of fish or whatever they like), cut a 'pocket' into it, and push in a pellet or two. Fish eats the tasty shrimp but also gets lots of nutrients from the pellet. Lots of people wean their predators onto a mostly pellet-only diet this way too.
