Hi:

I have a lovely pair of gold rams I purchased a few months ago that are doing very nicely. I was told they were "juveniles" by lfs and that their color (especially the male) would darken with time which has happened to my delight.

I've been using standard TetraMin flakes and occassionally some freeze dried blood worms. I saw on PetSmart site there is TetraMin food for cichlids with and without "color enhancer". I thought the dedicated TetraMin product might be nice but wasn't sure if I wanted any artificial dyes in their food. Besides the TetraMin for cichlids without color enhancer, is there anything else they particularly enjoy eating??

tetra prima and frozen blooworm or brine shrimp were what i fed my rams when i had them in my previous set up, the did great on that

Yeah I agree with Joe.

Rams love lots of protein, I gave mine freeze-dried and frozen bloodworm. The freeze dried is nice and easy to feed, and they love it and its good for them too.
