Food Blocks

Hi I'm going away for a week soon. Are these 'holidays blocks' any good for my fish? or will they be alright not being fed? B)

The holiday blocks can play havoc with your water chemistry & have a tendency to leave a pile of rotting food in the bottom of the tank.
Most fish should be ok left for a week.
What have you got?

Hi Thanks for replying. Its a new tank, 20 gals. I've only got 4 platys, 1 cat fish, 1 red tail shark. 3 neons and 1 sucking loach which i think will be going back to the pet shop because he does nothing but chase my platys!!

New as in, newly cycled, or new as in just set up with fish in straight away?

Species? The smallest species are schooling, the biggest get to many foot long.

Good choice, they get to 11" or so and get very aggressive.

Hi its a newly cycled tank. The cat fish is a peppered one. I've always had a red tailed shark and never had problems. (i use to keep a tank many years ago). I've just phoned the pet shop and am taking the sucking loach back tomorrow, any suggestions on transporting it?, i don't have any plastic bags big enough.

It might be a bit of a trek, i don't know but ask the shop for a bag big enough. I used one of those blocks through christmas and lost about 6 fish, kinda still gutted, an automatic feeder would be better but some ppl still don't trust them either
