Hi my friend is taking one of my fm's off me this weekend so i will have 1 in a 4ft.I was wondering if i could fit 2 parrots and maybe a pair of cons or somesort of other cichlid. The tank will have a external on it.

Depends on the dimensions. Parrots need at least a 55g but you have to account for your firemouth too. Couple of female cons might work as they're smaller, but I wouldn't get a male/female pair, as they'll kill your firemouth.

I agree, if its 55G 4ft, then might wanna skip the cons if you have a fm and 2 parrots. but if its a 75G 4 ft or 90G 4 ft then could do 2 female cons as these won't add alot of aggression to the tank with these sizes. just make sure, no breeding pair of cons, this will wrack your whole tank as they become extremely aggressive after eggs are layed.

EDIT: just thought, what kind of parrots? Blood parrots that most lfs' sell or natural parrot cichlids cause there would be a difference there. I believe the natural parrots can be more aggressive, but I might be wrong with this
