Fluval U3 Sideways?

Topic title basicually,
will it be okay to have the fluval u3 sideways across the top of the tank with the 'spray bar' pointing down perhaps?

as long as its submerged it should be fine, I often suggest using these side on, in half filled turtle and amphibian tanks

I use the U4 sideways, and have no problems
