Fluval Edge Questions

had my Fluval edge a week now fishless cycleing my tester kit is coming in mail(so not tested yet)should be hear tomorrow anyway whats the best fish to get in there to help cycle the tank? the place i got the tank from suggested sum but i cant remember what (tho he said to wate atleast a week and thats what ill do)

any sort of hardy fish barbs are classed as hard fish

I'd say go completely fishless for your cycle.

You can do a fish-in cycles but pretty much every experienced aquarist on here will recommend a fishless cycle as it's easier in the long-term to do & less likely to harm your fish.

I agree with what Gazanimal said. Most people we see on here that start a fish-in cycle say something similar to "opps - I listened to what the fish store said and stocked fish, but then I found this forum and realized it would be better on the fish to do a fish-less cycle".

Gvilleguy - your guide's are exactly what i was looking for and will stick to fishless. you say about carbon ive left my carbon in the filter for past week should i take it out? or just leave it for now? also ill do my water testing tomorrow and start this properly tomorrow

carbon isnt needed unless you are looking to remove medication from the water, ditch it, stick it in a draw for later use.
