Question for the Fluval Edge owners.

Are you seeing much water evaporation?

My tank is in a room that's not overly warm and has no heating on. (The radiator is off)

The room contains my PC and a small fridge which keeps the room at a nice, but not hot temperature.

Are you experiencing any evaporation as I seem to lose a bit each day.


I appreciate doing water tests takes some water out of the tank but it's only a few ml each time but my level seems to drop quicker than expected and I have to top up again.

Thoughts?

Oh & I've checked for leaks, there wasn't any

If you've still got the standard lights I'd put it down to that. They get pretty hot and if you have them on for 8+ hours a week then it's bound to be having an effect.

I run them for about 4 hours per night, but off totally during daylight.

Probably is down to them as they do kick out some heat

I get the same effect, lose about 1cm a week, those bulbs are very hot and are very close the the water most the time
