Hey guys,

Finnally took some pics of my 40 gal planted with the new sand substrate in, looks loooads better with sand IMO :)

Tank Stats:

40 Gallons,
Rena Filstar XP2 External Canister Filter Up To 75Gal (excellent filter!)
Biological C02 kit (throw away canisters), with a vario c02 diffuser
5x Java Fern (all the pants have some excellent new growth on!
3 x Straight Vallis
Large load of Java moss attached to bog wood.

Fish,
1 x Old Timer Angelfish (gold variety)
2 x Dwarf Gourami's 1 Male, 1 Opaline Female
2 x Congo Tetra (grown quite large, larger that normal i think!)
3 x Corydoras 2 x Peppered 1 x Bronze (soon to get two more bronze's and another peppered)
2 x Clown Loaches
8 x Glowlight Tetra

If anyone can let me know of any other plants to include, as i do need some more to fill the space, feel free to let me know!

hi, you should attach the java fern to some wood rocks as it will die in the sand. you can attach it with cotton/fishing line or superglue. i find the superglue easiest, but make sure it is cyanocrylate, it will say on the packet. also, i'd take the other plants out of the foam and plant them in the sand. other easy plants you could try would be amazon sword, anubias, moss balls and Hygrophila polysperma. :good:
 
Hmm. not got anything to attatch the Java fern to unfortuanately, a tall piece like that would look stupid attatched to some bog wood :D. But its doing excellent at the moment, has lots of new growth on it, ill let you know if it started to die off thanks.
