Fluval 305 Problem - Can't Restart Filter -- Now Resolved

Errm... just cleaned (well rinsed the pads) in my 305 and now I can't get it to restart - looking at the primer the disc is slightly warped meaning it doesn't make a seal so the self primer isn't working.

The big problem is with the length of pipes available to me I can't easily suck on the hose myself to prime it.

Any ideas urgently appreciated...

Err... how long will my filter material last for with no water flow?

Skip that - filter is now sorted. Managed to contort myself and apply old fashioned method of syphon starting (and god it doesn't half taste foul)...

Water everywhere but the filter is running.
 
Taste has gone now, just cracked open a bottle of wine to get rid of the taste ;)
