i have put the in pipe into the tank and hung the out pipe over the tank.....i have pressed the pump lever to get water into it but its not working( all done with the plug OUT)

I HAVE DESPERATLY TRIED,CANT FIND THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE WEB,AND THE LAD I GOT IT OFF ISNT ANSWERING ME YET
i was assured ita about 4 months old

You gotta pump loads to get the canister to fill up.... keep pumping until the air stops coming out. You need to do it manually, theres a lever that you pull up and down over and over again until the canister fills up. Then you can put the valves down and turn on!

You need the intake in the water (obvoiusly) and the outlet out of water. If the outlet is in the water, the pump will rarely work for priming. Pump like crazy for a while, and a syphon will start filling the canister. The valves need to be on full flow for the prime to work :good:

Once full of water, you shoulden't need to do the pumping again unless you clean the pipes. Simply drop the water line below the outlet, before opening the valve again, and the filter will fill itself.

yes it was the valve opener i was pumping so may need a new one lol... but working now ,thanks

oh SOD that.... the water is running down the out pipe, have sqweezed the pipe in as far as i can, still running down tho

Order a replacement pipe, as it will be the seal on it that has failed. They are not sold seporately (the seals). For a short-tearm fix you can apply a jubilie clip, tightened arround the rubber bit that is leaking.

Replacement pipes cost about 12 pounds.
