How much pressure should a 304 be putting out? I know what the manual says but in real world terms how powerful should the jet of water be entering the tank. I just started running the filter to clean the water and sand that has just been added. The tank is only about a third full. I haven't fitted anything to the end of the tube so its coming straight out. There doesn't seem to be any pressure, it just seems to be trickling out. If the tank was full and there was a spray bar/nozzle would this make the difference??

Cheers,

Karl

Make sure you have the aqua lock system completely open, my 204 can make a very strong current when fully open.

Also if it's making alot of noise, unplug it then pump the primer key until the water comes out of the output nozzle and whilst your doing a down movement plug the unit back it which starts it up sweetly and shoudl keep going nice and quietly.

Thanks for the reply  The Fluval seems very difficult to get up and running compared to my other filter. Perhaps I'm just being simple  I think I may have found the problem with the flow. I had a piece of tight over the inlet to stop sand going into the filter. Took it off and voila, instant flow  but how long will it last without the the tight material if sand starts being sucked up?

We have sand in all our tanks and have never had any trouble with it getting into the filters. Just make sure the inlet is away from the sand and it won't be any problem.
