iv bought a fluval 205, but alot of people tell me bad things with 205 and tetratec been good
any help, as i can return item and exchange
pro and cons,

one thing i do like with the ex700 is the spray bar, not seen the 205 inaction

You are going to hear good and bad things about both filters and drive yourself crazy :)

Plus points for Fluval is spares etc. are readily available off the shelf.
Plus points for Tetratec - More media flexibility - Fantastic customer support - I read a post recently where Tetratec sent the guy a brand new motorhead because it was leaking. (note - all filters could possibly leak)

I chose my filter (an Aqua One) based on the media flexibility, it having shut off valves on the pipework and a push button to prime it. Now it turns out spares might be hard for me to get hold of - but still happy with that filter.

I have top fin and tetra filters. One of my LFS is a tetra rep and has every spare part of tetra filters that you can imagine.

By the way, tetra makes top fin :D A lot of the tetra parts fit on the top fin.
