I bought a bottle today but I haven't used it yet, It says to do 1 capfull for every 40L at the start then 1capfull every 200L after that a day.

So do I dose 5 times for the first day then go on to dose 1 capfull a day? 5 capfulls sounds abit harsh to me.

They say to do this to bring up the carbon levels in the water quickly but I wouldnt bother. I believe in slowly raising the levels. Just dose one capful for every 200L. Why you dosing carbon when you have a pressurized system?

Because the reg is leaking and am too lazy to fix it yet?

apologies for jumping on the thread but have my own question related to Seachem Flourish...

Going to purchase online two bottled treatments for plant growth "tropic marin agua gro nutrafeed" & "seachem flourish", before i do just double checking they will both work together - from what i've read believe they will. or are there any other recommendations?

My tank is 60L.
My plan of action for administrating them would be...
Day1 - 2ml of AquaGro
Day2 - 2ml of AquaGro
Day3 - 2ml of Seachem
Day4 - 2ml of AquaGro
Day5 - 2ml of AquaGro
Day6 - 3ml of Seachem
Day7 - 2ml of AquaGro

Would this method be ok - or is it advisable to add the Seachem and AquaGro together (same day)

Planning on having the tank light on for around 9.5 hrs. (do not have the wattage to hand as working)

Why would you dose two kind of ferts?

What you wanna do is get Marco ferts and bottled CO2 or Inject CO2. Dose both everyday.

my mis-understanding, thought you had to use the seachem flourish in conjuction with another fert'.

Flourish is just fert, You want the Excel stuff which is liquid CO2.

Or you could get your own salts to mix your own ferts like I have!

I'm not sure how PlantedTanks get away with selling you the stuff and you feel like you're building a bomb when you're mixing them but it's cheap and lasts a while!

Thanks Slim, what would you recommended dosage schedule be for a 60L?...

(very new to fishkeeping, trying to learn as much as possible to keep a succesful habitat)

Just follow bottle dosing instructions, make sure you dose both everyday preferably before lights on:)

On second thoughts, if I remember correctly, aquagro says to dose X amount per week.
Ignore this, divide dosing measurements by 7 and dose this daily.

should receive my order hopefully tomorrow or wednesday.

know the advantages of keeping lights off after a water change.

was wondering what the advantages are of adding ferts before lights on?
does having the light on help process the fertiliser - and is there a recommended time to
add before lights on... 2Hrs or ten minutes for example?

This relates more to liquid carbon than your aquagrow.
Basically carbon is very much like co2, you want to get the carbon levels up in your water colume before lights on as this is when your plants photosythesize and will absorb the carbon. If you leave it until say an hour or two after lights on, your carbon levels will be yoyoing causing fluctuations.
Plants struggle to adapt to fluctuating conditions and therefore wont absorb the carbon or ferts as efficiently as they should which is just a waste if you ask me.
Whether you dose 2 hours or 10minutes before lights on is upto you really, doesnt really matter.
Just bare in mind carbon will only stay in your water colume for 12 hours so dont dose too early before lights on.

The trick is to make sure the carbon is in your water every minute your lights are on:)
