im getting a flordia canal pleco can anyone tell me what the ph gh kh range a link would be good

Do you know the scientific name? I can't find them on Planet Catfish. Have you done a search?

their on cichlidsrusim not sure if the ph is that high

Edit: Sorry, didn't notice you already have one. Do you ahve room for 2 12" fish?

no thats not a common pleco man im surprised nobody knows what a clay pleco is

Well it certainly looks like one to me and also the site you linked me to suggests it by having "pleco" as the common name. Common plecs are usually just called plecs. I am more than happy to be wrong though, we are all learning!

I do think it is a common. Have you looked at the pics on the link I gave you? Especially the 2nd from the right on the top row. Look at http/web.mit.edu/lxs/www/ cichlids/pleco.html

Have you even looked? Surely you must see the similarity.

If it is truly from the Florida canal system, it is either a Sailfin pleco or a common pleco. Sailfins are more abudant in the Florida canal system. The canals ph is generally around 8 due to high limestone. I currently use the canal water as my aquarium and pond water and have several plecos and all do very fine. These plecos will probably exceed 22" in length once fully grown.
