Floating Riccia With A Internal Filter

Am thinking of using some spare Riccia I have to float in my tank to offer some shade for my fishes, my only problem being I think it may clog up my internal Juwel filter.

Is there a way around this ? or has anyone tried this before

if your filter sucks in water via a grate on the lower part it should be fine, but if your using a weir type of intake then it will clog with floating matter, you could always use a connected piece of airline tubing made into a circle to 'corral' the riccia into a neat area where you want it.
